These can be obtained in Meriphataud Mountains from defeating Crane Flies or in Dangruf Wadi from Wadi Hares. You will need 4 clumps of Gausebit Grass to complete this quest. Traveling on a chocobo is very, VERY cool, by the way, and I plan to use them whenever I can and as funds allow.Description: This license is issued to certified chocobo riders. I had purchased the necessary quest items the night before in Sandy, so I was good to go, and six hours later I had my license!Įxplored the city for a bit on Sunday morning and then rented my first chocobo in the afternoon so I could travel back to Sandy (just because). Once in Jeuno, we hit the Chamber of Commerce to get maps of the city and Qufim and then split up, as I had to hit the chocobo stable. Needless to say we arrived in Jeuno relatively unscathed. We got aggroed only once by a Quadav and were lucky that a high-level warrior was around to provoke it off of us. We took the Highlands-Pashow-Rolanberry route, making sure to set our HPs the whole way there. Firstly you must be a Level 30 Combat class to unlock the quest ‘My Feisty Little Chocobo‘ which is available in Camp Tranquil in the South Shroud. This too requires some steps to access this particular feature. As it turns out, several of them were planning a trip to Qufim, so we high-tailed it there together. Your Chocobo as a ‘Companion’ In Final Fantasy XIV your Chocobo can be summoned to fight alongside you and becomes a member of your Party. On Satruday night I hooked up with a good group of people in Valkurm who proceeded to help me ding to lvl 20. I have only been on this path by chocobo and when running from tigers while doing the ranger quest so I an not entirely sure on what aggros and what doesn't.
There is a good amount of space to run around though. The Sarumongue is where you See Tier 4-5 yagudo which have a nasty habit of being advanced jobs and beating the crap out of people. The lack of obstacles make them easy to avoid though. YOU ARE DOOMED! They run faster than you hit harder than you and take damage better than you do. Mephidrot has literally next to no obstacles which means you can see stuff coming from a mile away and move to avoid it. Tahrongi -> Mephidrot -> Sarumongue: The windhurst past and hardest to pronounce of the paths this is the least taken route. However this is definately the safest path and is commonly farmed in so you may be able to find an escort. A Bronze Quadav cast cure 3 20 times before I zoned to get away.
This is also the zone I currently hate the most due to monsters having unlimited mp. Edit: Im an idiot, i just googled ffxi movement speed and realized it was. Then Rolanberry is very similar with it's huge amount of space to move around and probably this alone makes this the least dangerous route. Requires lvl 20 and a Chocobo License (dont forget to use the /cheer emote. If you take the main path which is longer you have a ton of space to maneuver to avoid aggro and there may bo Goobbue farmers around that may help you to Rolanberry and maybe even Jeuno. Highlands -> Pashow -> Rolanberry: This is the Bastok route and is the most commonly used due to Pashows shortcut crevasses and lack of many things that aggro. This route is Reasonably dangerous and is the Route I took. Tons of things aggro including tigers and tier 4-5 orcs. There isn't much space to move around in if you get jumped however. However Funguars aggro so you have to go on the "cliffs" beside the crevasses where goblins and orcs hang out a lot. Be sure to check carefully as it is easy to miss. You receive a Tuft of golden fur after the scene. La Theine -> Jugner -> Battalia: This is the San'dorian Route Jugner is Semi-safe since a lot of people farm tigers and trees there. Examine the Darkened Crevice at the (G-7)/ (G-8) border in Woh Gates for a cutscene with Arciela, Morimar, and Darrcuiln. There are 3 paths to Jeuno one for each of the main nations:
When you hit level 20 you should be headed to Qufim to level anyway.
